Member Businesses Gain Central Training Resource
Situation
To improve the skills of its regional workforce, the Thumb Area MichiganWorks! organization wanted to provide one-stop access to training for employers.
Solution
We collaborated with employers in four Michigan counties to develop a comprehensive training system.

Our LDI team:
  • Conducted a needs analysis with employers in four Thumb area counties
  • Developed a training catalog to support employer needs
  • Provided a learning management system (LMS) for registering and tracking employee training
  • Worked with local community colleges to provide training resources
  • Provides administrative and technical support services on an ongoing basis
Outcome
The Thumb Area MichiganWorks! Employment Builders Alliance has expanded into eight counties. Over the past year, more than 1,700 workers from 113 member businesses have successfully completed training.

Michigan's Thumb Area businesses have a central resource that collectively delivers exceptional employer support and employee training programs. By consolidating the region's training programs, this region has become a conduit for training innovation.
