Autodesk
Training Initiatives Empower Sales Team
Situation
Autodesk, a software firm that sells AutoCAD solutions to organizations worldwide, needed training
support services for one of its growing divisions. The division wanted to educate its retailers
about specific products and teach them to communicate product benefits and values to Autodesk customers.
Solution
We immersed ourselves in Autodesk product offerings to gain an understanding of their unique benefits and
selling points. The LDI team provided training support by:
- Creating new performance-based training objectives
- Revising existing training to support the sequence of course objectives
- Developing classroom participant manuals that included content required to support presentations and materials for classroom activities
- Developing Level 1 and Level 2 assessment instruments to measure customer satisfaction and achievement of learning objectives
- Developing instructor guides that included PowerPoint slides for classroom delivery, instructions, suggested times for facilitating classroom activities, answers to pre/post tests, and sample questions for prompting participant interaction
Outcome
The course pilot was a success as evidenced by survey feedback - an overall score of 4.4 out of 5 was achieved.
Autodesk's training coordinators gained a strategic program that empowered the company's retailers with
essential customer service and sales skills.
Currently, we are developing eight e-learning courses for four new Autodesk products.
